06 Road King code U1097

06 Road King code U1097
Requesting info. pertaining to the following Code U1097. Last night at the end of a 120 mile ride and just before I shut her down I noticed the red key was on, I turn the switch off and then back on, the red key came on then went back out, I started her up again and rode her a good 25 more miles and she purred not missing beat. its Sunday and not wanting to wait for the service dept. to open on Monday, I pulled the codes U1097 loss of speedometer serial data to ecm. The only thing that ive done this week to her was change the rear tire. Is this a dealer repair only or is there another solution to the issue, Can I ride today? Thanks Fellers for your time.

Code U1097 Follow Up
I talked to the locale dealer service dept. and told him I had pulled DTC, code U1097 from my bike, he said they were backed out 3 plus weeks before he could see it, he further stated that I should look for short in wiring, look under the console at the speedometer etc. Then by some luck of the Harley Gods, I seen a video on you tube and the guy said you have a light out. Sure enough the rear fender marker light bulb 193 was out. I rode all over the Smokey Mountains for a week with a front running light out and never received an DTC. Anyways I cleared to code and took her out for some wind therapy and im happy to report that were both back in good shape.
