Where do you get it? Even as hot as it is here going down the road I have in the 30 lbs oil pressure range. At idle it drops down to around what looks like in the 8 to 10 range. I don't know what is in it. I will look at changing it.

I sometimes get it at Rocky Mountain ATV for less. It's not just the thickness that helps, non synthetic is always quieter than synthetic.

Diagnosing engine noise on the internet is a stab in the dark.
The described noise sounds like something other than a compensator that usually clackety-clacks on start up etc. as already mentioned.
My stab in the dark- don't overlook an exhaust leak. Check the heade'r' attachment to the cylinders. Also, look very closely between the cylinder fins for any sign that a head gasket might be leaking.
Such an exhaust leak will make a very noticeable "tick" or "tap" under acceleration.

I will look at the exhaust header and the cylinders. That's not what it sounds like but I will definitely look. I may go to the harley and tesr ride one around the year of mine and see what it sounds like. This is the first I have rode in several years. Hopefully mine is normal. Dill going to put the screamin eagle compensator and Hayden chain tensioner on. Hope the compensator helps the starting problems. Thanks for the comments.
