Default grease fitting HELP

The grease fitting on my 2006 R/G steering head is impossible to get to, the support bracket for the fairing is in the way and there is no way to get a grease gun on it.Tryed getting the fitting off but can't get the correct size wrench on it...anyone know of a solutionto this problem

I replaced mine with a 45 degree fitting. I have an Ultra Classic. Best I recall, I turned the wheel hard right and could get a wrench on it. It may be a metric 9 mm or something, I don't remember.

Thans..I can turn mine hard right, don't matter. Still can't at it, I am about ready to cut some metal out of the way..getting **** at it

Probably have to loosen and maybe remove the left fairing mount.
Change out the fitting and then replace the mount.

I used a 1/4 drive ratchet and socket to remove mine and 2 friends bikes in the last 2 months. Use your left hand on it and it will fit snugly. Right hand wont fit.Been there and done 3 times. I used a 90 deg. fitting and take it apart to install with a socket and ratchet. Dan

I removed the fairing and replaced the zerk with a 45 deg.

Thanks to all...guess it won't be fun but I would reather do it myself than have a dealer do it. I'll give ita try tommorrow(Sunday)...suppose to rain here away..thank again...
