Default 04 road king compensator upgrade

Is there an upgrade available for the 04 touring bikes? I know that there are options for the newer lines. I’ll be doing some work on my final drive this winter and want to upgrade if possible while I’m in there. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nowt should be wrong with your 04 comp. they were pretty good units back prior to 07. However there are a few aftermarket options like BDL, etc. if you feel you need to change it out.

As mentioned by Dawg, comps prior to ‘07 were solid units.

Default thanks

thanks for the info - i've done the baker on some newer bikes, noticed quiet the difference in "engagement" when i drop the clutch at higher rpm.
i don't prefer to go into the primary more than once if i don't have to so i figured i'd ask. have a great week!

I'm running my bike with an S&S 107" on that older style comp. When I installed it I found the comp teeth were sharp, indicating they were worn. As I was fitting a new engine I replaced comp and chain (clutch teeth were good), but unless you are doing something similar you should be fine IMHO. What mileage does your bike have at present?

i've only got 30k miles. i'm not looking for something to do, i'm going to need to change out my final drive belt so i'll be in there and i knew there were issues with the later models, i didn't know if this was an issue for the 04 range.
thanks for your help.
