Hi all! I am in Banff AB on my first trip on the new bike. For those that have been on this trip up highway 95, and into the Park, you know how fantastic that road is. I was keeping up with my buddy on his CVO last night on the way in, and we were riding hard through the big sweeping turns, and I experienced some fairly significant wag that started in the rear when laid over in a turn at 75-85. Even my buddy said it looked scary LOL.
Other than the bags being nearly full, I have one small duffle on the luggage rack, I bumped the preload back half a turn when we got to the hotel, I will check the chart and set it again before we head to Jasper today.
Is this something typical for the baggers? I assume the suspension upgrades I read about here will likely help?
I recall reading about this issue on Dynas when I had mine, and all of the devices sold to prevent it.
Just looking for some feedback, it wasnt something I could not ride out of, and I have experienced severe head shake at high speed before. Would like to improve it if I could.
Loving the bike! I rode her hard. The Rineharts are broke in, now and sound awesome.
Yes it's common on baggers. I just got back from Tennessee. A buddy and I me had that through the mountains in West Virginia. I have a 2012 with Ohlins shocks and he has a 2019 stock Street Glide. We had a few moments like that when through sweepers 80mph and up. The frame starts flexing and the whole bike starts to wobble.
Did you have any luggage strapped on top of the rear seat/rear fender? If so, how much/how high was it stacked?
As mentioned, just one small duffle on the luggage rack, about 9 inches tall, lightweight. I am ruling this out. I have experienced the results of a big bag behind me on my Dyna, this does not feel like that

Ya that on tire pressure. Uneven packing will do that to. I even weigh each bag load before packing to keep weight even as possible. Stupid maybe, but never a problem.

I rented a 2017 Road Glide in Vegas. Experienced this riding two up. Very unsettling to say the least. The Victory has none of these poor handling characteristics. I will keep riding it until HD gets this fixed. The new softails seem to be well sorted out at least.
