Getting back into the Harley life after a long absence. Just bought a 2012 Street Glide and I'm loving it. Looking to change the seat from a deep saddle with large passenger pad for a more low profile seat. Looking at a used seat that the guy had on a 98 Road King. Will this seat fit a 2012 Street Glide?
Have 2 seats off a 19 Street Glide, one had been mod with memory foam 1 inch lowered and narrowed by MCC, other stock except for sides slightly narrowed. Will send ya pic's if interested, also a Smooth Le Pera Maverick seat. Thanks.
actually, i meant to type 2009, but fat fingered it.... thanks for catching that.
You were not wrong though. All OEM seats from 2008 will work on the 2009+. Although they did change the frames in 09 they didn't make the seat area any wider.
The nose area where the tank connects to the frame is shaped a little different and some frame hugging designs from aftermarket may not mount up correctly (as mentioned, like Corbin), but the Stock HD seats will work fine.
i had considered 2008 to be one of those 'grey years'. i know they changed the way the seat mounted in 2008, but changed the width of the rear fender in 2009. wasn't sure if that had any impact. now that i know it doesn't, that might help in my quest for a used seat....
