I have an LRS flattop that I look over and a Clearview Shield that I look through. The look through has a vent and recurved at the top. This is my wife's favorite. This is also best if you want to be in a no wind bubble! Extremely clear to look through and you can put RainX on this shield. I'll take pictures of both when I get home.
I don't believe in looking through a shield when I can look over one with better wind management. The recurve designs make this possible. LRS is probably the least expensive. They used to run pretty regular sales but haven't heard of any lately.

Freedom Shields (https://freedomshields.net/) makes an extremely high quality shield as Rob175 noted above. The owner, John, has the customer service part down. Questions, he will answer them all. Concerns, he will discuss them with you. Guidance, he knows what works. I have used their shields on my last 3 bikes and have never been disappointed
I am curious about the clock werks shields in addition to those mentioned. I have read it helps with stability at higher speeds. I am currently running a lrs 4 inch and look over it. buffeting not a problem unless I have to wear a helmet.
If you want to help Klock Werks out, I’m sure they could use the business to help recover https://www.facebook.com/klockwerkskustomcycles/videos/492895754604604/
I have the 10" Klock Werks, buffeting is minimal with or without helmet. Bike is used mostly for two up touring, The lip on the front and sides keeps the majority of bugs and rain off of us. As you can see in photo there is distortion but I prefer to look over the windshield instead of thru it.
Two months ago I replaced my stock HD windshield on my 2015 Ultra Limited with a Freedom Shields "Wide Touring" Windshield and I couldn't be happier. Yes, there is a recurve but I find ZERO distortion when looking through it. I especially appreciate it's greater thickness (no vibration) and its beautiful polished edges. They custom make them for each order. I will say that they run about 1' taller per size than the HD stock shields....so, If a 10" shield HD fits you then order a 9" Wide Touring Freedom Shield. I suggest you check out the Freedom Shields web site and call them with questions (JOHN, will gladly answer all your questions). BTW.....they offer a 10% discount if you mention or type "HDforum" in the coupon code area of the on-line order form. Good luck!
Same windshield for me works great I'm 6'3 and the wife is 6'0 she hated the stock shield
on the 17 UL had a freedom on the previous bike got the light tint touring.
If you are getting buffeting, and that is one of the reasons you want to change shields, do me, and yourself, a favor. Go for a ride and when you start to get the buffeting, take your left arm and place it horizontally across your chest... or in front of you. Try this and see if this reduces or stops the buffeting. If it does, that is an indication the air is coming from below the fairing. I did this with my Street Glide and ended up putting those fugly fangs on the forks. That took care of the buffeting for me. I have Long Ride Shield tinted 10" that I'm pretty happy with. Don't think changing the shield will cure all buffeting... best to try to find where it's coming from. Good luck!!
Love my Freedom extra wide. The owner suggested the same height as the oem for my height (6'2"). No buffeting at all. Oem was horrible. I can ride with a ball cap facing forward with zero issues at 50 (fasted I have tried with a naked head!).
I look just above the shield, but can slump and look through the plastic...no distortion what so ever.
Very happy with the price, delivery speed, and the product.

LRS has new owners. Since the takeover the pricing went way up and the constant sales dropped. I bought one of their shields from the old owners and it was really cheap and nicely made. Pricing now seems comparable to other companies.
