Default Beach bar, good for touring?

I'm digging the idea of buying a beach bar for my 2000 police RK. Always loved the look of low bars
Question is, are beach bars good on a touring bike? Seat position is comfortable, or so and so?
I now have the original (maybe?) handlebar on my bike, and I feel like it'd be more comfortable with more pullback. Than the idea of a beach bar came into my head...Don't want to go ape

Some do Apes, some to Heritage bars, some Beach, some others - You have to try the bars and see how you like them. In addition, it's not just the bars, the seat and or backrest are part of the equation in my opinion.

I have the beach bars on my 08 RK and would not ride any other way. I have tried hangars, heritage, other brands and am most comfortable with the beach bar.

I got Wild 1 518's … Similar to beach bar but not as low making it easer to do the slow parking lot maneuvers. I am same as other person in that I would not be without them.

They look good but I can't imagine them being comfortable. I was riding home from work today and saw somebody riding with them.
His posture looked to be leaning slightly forward, somewhat slumped, with his arms wide apart and reaching.

My back started to ache just watching him.

Everybody is different I guess. Beach bars would absolutely turn me into a cripple.

Ya depends what is worn out on you. My hands would go numb on apes fast.

Not beach bars, but this is similar to what came on my FLHR. Nice cruising I guess. Different in twisties. I have toured and done dragon 3 times with them. Would I put them on, dunno/ But been riding with them for 16 years

My FLHTCU I want more pullback, I think that would help with pain in base of neck.

2000 RK here. I tried several different bars, now happy with 518s. They're low and wide. Take a little getting used to, but really good handling once you're there. Handling feels better that it did with apes. I sit up straight, a little slumped, most of the time. Travel hours not a problem.

Thanks for all the answers. Yes, I guess the position is a mix of seat-bars and floorboards.

I have now a Mustang solo seat, and I feel a bit slumped with the original bars. I guess I just need to visit the hd shops and try some. I only now see the thread "Show me your Road King handlebars", very useful
