roadglide windshield ?
I have a 11 RGU and i need a new windshield, the wind noise and buffering is killing me. I spoke with John at Freedom shields and i think that is the way to go. He had suggested a 14 inch shield but i feel that will be way too tall,I want to be able to look over the top and not through it. Can anyone with experience with one give me your incite , when i measured it i come up with 12 inches. Im 5'9 with a 29" inseam. Any help will be appreciated , Im just getting more and more confused on what size to order at this point.
I would call Long Ride Shields and tell them what you are looking to accomplish. I agree the 14" is too tall and looking through a shield is not for me either.

Back before I bought my 2013 RGC I did some homework. The consensus was that I would need to change the bars and the stock windshield. Yeah, folks were right. With the stock shield as soon as I hit about 55 mph my head was being bobbed around and it also affected my vision. On another forum I read lots of posts about the windshield dilemma. Lots of guys had 3 or 4 or 5 windshields laying around their garage from experimenting. But...., the OVERWHELMING product that solved more problems than all the other brands combined was the adjustable Madstad windshield. So that's what I got. after mounting it didn't take too much experimenting with the adjustment to get it dialed in. Loved it!
Now, there are those who say they couldn't stand to have that butt ugly shield on their bike no matter how well it worked. Then, there are those like me who like the looks of the Madstad.
Couple of years ago I bought a garage queen 2016 RGU. The previous owner had already put a Freedom windshield on it that is the perfect height for me and it does a good job. My only complaint is at the place on the shield where the "recurve" starts I get some distortion there. Most times I'm looking over it but on a steep up or down hill when I need to look through it I generally raise up, sort of start to stand up a little, so to speak so I can continue looking over it.
I suppose the 2014 Rushmore bikes with the new fairing eliminated a lot of the buffeting problems of the pre-Rushmore bikes with the old style fairing. But from reading on another forum with lots of RG owners the Madstad was the one to have for the pre-2014 RG bikes.

People hear swear by John at Freedom. Are you sure you gave him the right measurement info? I am 5’7” and am rocking a 9” LRS Thresher which I easily look over. Now hat LRS raised there prices more people seem to be going with Freedom. Sounds to me you’re around an 11-12” Shield.
fugly shield on a fugly motorcycle ... a match made in heaven
