Default 12" bars

Curious because I've been told both yes and no. On my 2011 street glide, do I need wire extensions for installing 12" bars ?

Your clutch and brake lines should work with twelves. I used wire extensions on my 12s on my Roadglide as I didn't want to have to stop in the middle of installation if they were needed. I used namz 8 inch extensions. I had plenty of length to plug everything in when completed.

I don't think it would have happened if I had not used them.

My experience.

No way stock clutch and brake lines are reaching 12's on a pre-rushmore bike.

I don't think the wires are quite going to reach, either, but I can't say for sure. My 10's are fine, though.

You got to re route. They will fit on a pre Rushmore. I've got one! And I can do lock to lock easily. So respectfully disagree.

Just need to look at any observed issues to keep the cables away from your bars. Clutch is able to be moved enough to get to bars but it may have to be outside the hole in fairing. I took my clutch loose from clutch lever and was able to easily re route in side the engine guard and up by the neck and freed up a couple of inches.

Brake just cut the zip ties.

See video above.

Just upgraded my 06 to 12 inchers. No wiring extensions, but new clutch cable, throttle and idle cables (no TBW) and front brake lines were needed.

I just put new bars on as well brake line was fine but the clutch cable was not long enough for proper adjustment. New clutch cable installed. Now clutch pull is smooth as butter.
