Default Need HELP ! Road King front bolt snapped

Does anyone know if the bolts coming from forks are made on or actually screw up into fork on one side and nut screws on bottom end to hold front axle underneath?

mine snapped right when I went to loosen it, it appears that it screws up into the fork and I have plenty of bolt left to turn it out and install new one however I'm afraid it might be made on to the actually fork assembly which would majorly suck ***

It's a stud. It should screw out with vice-grips. Put a little heat with a Mapp Gas torch to get it red quick first since it surely has Loctite. Get it from Harley only. Just guessing since you do not list year. Be sure to turn the other correct way. It's easy to get confused in that position. Laying on the ground looking up. CCLW.

If it snapped off flush, you need to be an expert at removing stuff.

And going back, tighten the first one that is shown in the service manual to correct torque. You are working on some that can get you worst then killed.

Add a signature line on your bike like I have on mine.

Remove the other nut - with care! That will expose exactly what you have left of the broken stud. As Ripsaw recommends, get the correct H-D part. The reason is that the thread that goes into the fork slider is likely to be a tighter fit than a normal thread and you want the fit of your new stud to be good. The stock one is unlikely to be loctited in IMHO, as it uses that tight thread.

Ronnie's Harley Parts fish.. It could be a Class 5 interferience fit stud or loctite. Untill you get the part, won't know. If it's 5 the nut will not go on that end., it will be a bear to get out if flush. It's a class 8 fasteners for sure.
