When I had my 05 RKC I had pain between the shoulder blades (I even went to a Chiropractor!) until I swapped the bars. I put in the Extended reach and put the cables inside. No more pain and a nice look
I put the reach bars on my 06 UC. Much better!! Requires cable changes and can get expensive (about 600 altogether), but well worth the investment to me.
I think HD figured this out because their website touts new "more comfortable" handlebars for the '08. I hope so, because I'm 5'8 and looking at an '08 (haven't tried it yet) and you can't swap bars (yet) on the '08 due to the electronic throttle.

Don't count on it. Those bars on the 08don't lookmuch different than prior years. Besides, no matter what they might do to the bars they will never be able to make everyone happy. No one set of bars will ever fit eveyone correctly. Plan on having to do something to fit you better.
What about the RK Fat Bar kit? How does that compare to these others? I ride a RK Custom, I'm only 27, but I'm 6'4", that's why I have the big bike. Let's face it, if the bars don't look good too, it doesn't matter how comfortable they are, I won't use them. If I just wanted to be comfortable, I'd drive my truck.
I have a rk custom, and the stock beach bars gave me a burn in the back. I went ape. Got 18", and have not had a problem since. What works for some, may not work for you, unfortunately. I would suggest hitting up a bike night or a good weekend crowd at the dealers. Ask rider to sit on their bikes, most will not mind. Just tell them you are looking for a set of bars. Lots of people ask to sit on mine, and I gladly agree. Anything to help a fellow rider save some coin.
If you get a chance, check out a Police Road King and see if you like the bars on it. I'm pretty sure they use the Heritage bars on the police version.
