Stock handlebars are making me lean forward just enought to cause lower back pain.
I'm the average American male, according to statistics (5'9" & 185lbs).
Any suggests on bars that will lean me back and straighten out this old crooked back?
I had the same problem with my RK. Put on Road King chrome high bars.
I'am 5'10' and this was the best thing I've done for comfort.
My bike is a FLHRI and all the stock cables fit.
Not sure if your Classic cables are of the same length.
I put on the Road King Custom bars...they are similar to a beach bar and they will come back closer to you. You can use the stock cables - you would just need to "straighten" out the brake line some.
I recommend you go to the stealer and sit on a Road King Custom and find out if those are the ones for you.
I picked up mine up on ebay for around 27 bux.
The picture below does "not" show them, but I've just reciently changed out my stock RK bars to "Pullback Handle bars, H-D Part Number: 55954-00 that fit an FLHR with out having to change the cables or wire lengths for controls.
OBTW, forgot to mention, I also had the reach-grip-ache in the back on long rides. This did the trick.
