Default Updated Rear End

I made a few modifications to the rear end of my 05 police model and wanted to share. First, I want to replace the police radio plate with something different but to do that I also need to relocate the license plate and air tank for the police seat.

After removing the radio plate, license plate and air tank it was time to figure out where to put them. The license plate I knew was going below the stop light but I wasn't sure how I would mount it. The "Relocation Brackets" being sold seem to be stupid expensive so scratch that. I also wanted to added fillers with led lights, again commercially available and stupid expensive. So I started planning and this is what I did to relocate everything and clean up the rear end, including filler panels and lights. I decided that the filler panels would serve to relocate the air tank if I extended them across the top horizontally and it makes it harder to steal the bags. So I started with some aluminum angle and made these.

Then I installed them here.

Total cost of the aluminum was about $25, plus some longer stainless steel bolts. I fit the tank in between the bags and fender and now on to the license plate.

I bought these brackets for about $1.50 and mounted them between the signal light bar and fender after tweaking them just right and relocated the license plate. I added a nice chrome frame and some led light now it's a done deal.

Added some led light strips to the filler panels, installed a stealth style luggage rack, converted the signals to run, stop and turn and replaced the clear lenses with red.

Nice. Always have wondered why someone does not make the filler panels/strips to go between the bags and fender up top. Everybody is making them for the bottom.

Thanks Jaftica, I think most leave out the top so it's not in the way of quick detach brackets and such. I don't have that issue so it made a more finished look terminating it where I did. If I add a passenger back rest I may need to modify it a little for the sissy bar, no big deal.
