Thinking about installing plain chrome headlight and spot light visors. I was reading somewhere that you had to but different spotlight rings to mount these. I didn't have to do this on my older bikes. Anyone know if this is needed ?
One thing I noticed on a before and after, before a visor, on a dark foggy morning I had light rays going up in front of me from the headlight and actually blinding my vision lighting up the droplets. After a visor install the upward rays were no longer a problem. This was on my 2002 and 2005 Dynas.

I don't use them but my brother has them on a 2004 RK. He didn't change the rings.
it may depend on the year of the bike … I had to use different rings on both of my 1996 models, but that's going back a few years … I'm not sure about the later models …
I think they are saying 08 and later needs different spotlight rings. But after researching the part number HD's web page gives nothing jives with what they are saying. So has anyone installed these on an 08 and later touring bike? How hard to install ? Everyone is saying it's a bitch or they don't fit.

Your didn't say what year/model your bike is. When I installed the visors on my 2017 Road King, yes I did have to install different trim rings to secure the visors. I wouldn't fight off getting them.... next to smoked lenses, they're about the cheapest things I've done to my bike. Here are the parts that I used....
