I didn't change any rings when I installed the visors on my '12 RKC. It's a bit of oa PITA installing them, and there is a small a
gap even after you tighten them down. That's my gripe about them; and HD has never bothered addressing it. It's a small thing but I expect HD parts to fit perfectly, and they don't. But I still love the overall look once installed!

No, you wouldn't have needed additional trim rings as yours are a trim ring, and not referred to as actual "visors". Yours are "visor style trim rings", like these: https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...lamp-trim-ring
I think they are saying 08 and later needs different spotlight rings. But after researching the part number HD's web page gives nothing jives with what they are saying. So has anyone installed these on an 08 and later touring bike? How hard to install ? Everyone is saying it's a bitch or they don't fit.
So what part number are the visors that you want to install? This is what the web site says about mine: Fits all passing lamps ('87-later models require Passing Lamp Trim Rings PIN 68775-93TA). Does not fit models with Passing Lamp Trim Rings P/N 69622-99B or 69732-05). That does jive to me. As far as fit goes, mine fit my RK perfectly right out of the box. However, a buddy with a '17 Softail Heritage had a hard time getting his visors to secure properly - he eventually got it done, but I'm not sure of his process.

The visors i want ti install are part number 67783-78T. I do see that they require trim ring 68775-93TA now. What year Road King do you have and do you have the LED lights ? I was reading somewhere that if you have the LED lights the visors will not fit.
I may just buy the visors and if they don't fit correctly i'll buy the trim rings then.
I had no problems or complaints about the passing light visors on my 08 bike. The stock ring comes off, the visors go on, simple.
The headlight visor is disappointingly finicky though.
I tally agree with this. Initially, I thought you were talking about the little flat visors that go in behind the bezzels. If that's the case, I don't see where there's a problem at all? NOW, if you are talking the visor bezzels, I agree with this poster. The visor bezzels for the passing lights go on easy, just replace the stock ones. The headlight is a pain in the ***. Don't buy a cheap one, get a HD one. Depending on how **** you are, the headlight one leaves a space all around the headlamp and leaves in "sunken in" looking. I took small washers and longer bolts and shimmed my headlamp to to eliminate the gap. It's totally doable, just takes a lil time. The instructions say it goes over the stock ring, but there's no way in hell. It replaced it. I got a 14 RoadKing. Like the looks.

You might as well go ahead ahead and get the trim rings at the same time. It'll save you time and the extra trip.
My Road King is a 2017. I currently have HogWorkz LED passing lamps (as well as head lamp). The visors and trim rings work just fine with them (as well as the stock lamps and after market replacements). By the way, if you're putting a matching visor on your head lamp, it uses the stock ring.
