Default Electra glide standard tail light options

So I'm gonna be trading in my softail slim on an Electra glide standard. I tried searching but couldn't find anything. But the tail light is so ugly. All the other bikes went to bullet lights and it just looks so much better. I see lower profile tail lights but what's the mounts like? Can you remove the tail light entirely and switch to billet signals only like the street glide? Everything else on the bike I like because it's like a clean slate but that tail light is too old looking to me

Interesting. I like the traditional tail light on my standard. You would have to change the rear fender if you take it off, because it has holes for the light mount. You would also have to mod the tail/stoplight, which can be done, because the standard doesn't use the turn signals for stoplights. There's a plug and play to remedy that though.

Electra Glide Standard is a great bike! I agree on the tail light. I went with an LED one from Custom Dynamics. Finished it off with a curved tag holder. They have them with no clear window as well. Had to keep a light on the flag!

and it definitely looks better (imo) thank stock. Just wish I could ditch the whole set up realistically. But i gues when I get it I'll have to fab it up. Something to think about for now. My big thing for not goin street glide is that I don't like chrome, so everything will be powder coated on my bike because of how cheap it is, so the things like the brake light and the audio stuff don't justify the price for a street glide.

I just picked up a Custom Dynamics yesterday for my 2020 Limited! Also the programmable module for flashing the tail light. I’ve heard about too many rear end accidents. Good looking and more safety!

Probably a non issue but keep in mind that flashing lights on civilian vehicles is not legal in some states. including mine. CD mentions this on website.

Local PD has them on their bikes though!

My bet is there will be some more options from the aftermarket as the year progresses. These bikes are selling well it seems (I just bought one, and there was another one waiting to be delivered on the ramp). Personally I don't want tiny bullet lights, but yes the stock one looks a bit fuddy dud.

yea I'm NJ it isn't legal but I've had them in the past most cops understand, as long as it goes solid after like 3 flashes
