Default Primary case noise

My 06 Ultra has a strange sound eminating from the primary case area especially when it gets hot . sounds like a low to mid range pitched "woo woo woo".when going 30 or less .even does it when coasting to a stop in neutral with engine off. kinda sounds like a belt howl. It is loud enough that people riding behind or next to me can hear it to. Any ideas?
Thanks

How many miles? and when was the last time you checked the primary chain tension and the drive belt tension? My drive belt chirps like crazy when cold but goes silent when it warms up. Sounds like your problem is there always?

Mine made that kind of noise when the chain was too tight. But 2 different dealers have loosened mine twice since new. Mine seems to get tighter the more I ride it. 15k miles now. I use 20/50 Mobil 1 in it. Dan

My 07 UC is at the dealer for the same problem. I will let you know what they found when I get it back.

Yeah, I have same noise on my '07 SG. I"ve changed the primary fluid several times and checked the auto chain tensioner and can't figure out the cause. Now I just ignore it. Let us know what you find out.

Well, the dealer replaced the primary bearing and the sound went away, but came back on the way home. Took it back and they pulled primary cover made sure everything was put back together correctly drove it and agreed the noise is back, and from the primary bearing they installed. The dealership has a call into Harley, and waiting on a reply back from their technicians. So, when I get mybike back again I will let everyone know what else the problem was. So, in the interim, I am having fun on my wife's good old dependable 750 Honda Shadow.

Uunless something is drastically wrong, it the sound of the chain dragging across the nylon tension shoe.
I put the 07 model auto adjuster in my 06 last month.
With proper adjustment made, it humms as long as the clutch is released.
Won't hurt anything.
But if the dealer is in the primary anyway, put the auto adjuster in.

My '07 Ultra (16,000 miles) is also in the shop for the same "woo-woo-woo" sound at low speeds.&nbsp\\; This my first HD and I love it to death, BUT, I have been dissapointed in its dependibility in comparison to the metric bikes Ive had.
