All, I have an 08 police road king with about 45k hard miles. I do the police manuves like sto does.
I was having some wobble issues in the rear awhile ago and found the swing arm bearings worn and the outer bushings to the frame were worn. I replaced the swing arm bearings and outer frame bushings and added sta-bo bushings in. This helped for awhile. Now I have a new issue with the rear end feeling like its sliding out from under me on certain turns (not really related to ground conditions as its sporadic) I never did an alignment after this as I knew I was going to tear into this this winter. Rear tire was new at start of this year,,,it has some side cupping as does the front.
so here's what if have and not sure if it's normal or not....if I remove the piviot shaft, and just install it loose in trans, it has play...wobbles so to speak, when I assemble all the parts and torque it to specs, everything is tight, even pry bared the trans and nothing moves.
not sure where else to go with this next
Thx for the help and long read

Rear tire comes to mind. Pressure, age, hardness, etc.
Rear tire is not that old, maybe summertime?
factory h.d dunlop with all new bearings as well.
Front was new as well factory dunlop with bearings as well.
Rear....
Just an update, decided to pull the trans and send it to the machine shop for true and bushing install. Gunna end up ordering the glide pro set up since I damages the shaft and bushings getting them back out.
If the sliding out from underneath only happens sometimes, I would suspect road conditions, sand, paint stripes, and tar strips. Sand, any time, paint stripes especially when wet, even from dew, and tar strips especially when they are warm from the sun heating them. Make sure tires have AT LEAST as much pressure as recommended. Low pressure can cause what you are feeling AND accelerate cupping. D402s are prone to cup, I got whining sound in turns from about the 1/2 wear point until replacement. I got better wear from Dunlop Elite IIIs and Michelin Commander IIs. Haven't run 402s in many years.
Air pressure I generally ck at least once a week, and it usually holds pretty well.
The cupping I'm chalking up to manuvers,,,and maybe the tires aren't the greatest.

Checking pressure frequently is recommended, but you don't specify what pressure you maintain. A CAREFULLY maintained pressure which is too low is not much different than not bothering to check at all.Look at the owner's manual pressure as the minimum. If your gauge reads 3 psi more than what is actually in the tire, you will still be under inflated. PICTURES of the Glide pro kit (I have never handled one myself) make it look as if the pivot shaft is larger in diameter than the stock shaft. Bushing the transmission tube might prevent using the Glide Pro replacement shaft. Guess you will find out soon enough.
