Default Road King reduced reach bars

I would like to give an FYI for anyone that was interested in putting reduced reach bars on their Road King. So I have a 2015 Road King and currently have Khromewerks 10in Bobber apes.

So here is a comparision of the stock Road King bar vs the Reduced reach Road King Bar. The biggest difference between the two are. The reduced reach pullback is lower and about 1/2 in shorter in length. I noticed that when I lined them up that the left/clutch side is significantly shorter than the right/throttle side. Here are some pictures. So basically they are the same size but the angle of the bar is lower and shorter. Ill follow up in a week or so when I get them on.

Hmm, doesn't seem like it would make much difference. Let us know how it feels when you get them installed.

How tall is the OP? By '15, the Road Kings came from the factory with what looks like the Heritage Style bars that were the popular replacement for factory bars in 2008. Sounds like for some, the factory bars are still too long a reach. I haven't test ridden a new one so I believed the "one size fits NONE" problem had been fixed. Rotating the factory bars back slightly didn't remedy your fit problem?

Rotating the bars all the way down from were it barely clears lock to lock puts the handlebars ends in an awkward position. Trust me. I have already tried it. I'm 5'5". I like sitting upright and put a hammock seat and seat bead cover which raises the seat height even more. I tried the reduced reach solo seat and it did the total opposite of what I expected in terms of seating position. It sat me lower, but it spread my legs out more, which I could barely put 1 foot down securely. Let see if this will work. Which I don't think it will because the wrist angle of the handlebar is downward. I was expecting the wrist angle to be higher so I can lower the bar to were it is positioned closer to me. Not sure why they are called reduced reach.

I test rode a rushmore police bike which is the perfect riding positing for me, the only problem is the seating position is too high to a point were having 1 foot down is a struggle. I realized that having the forward foot position is not for me and good posture in riding equals all day comfort.

I put the HD reduced reach bars on my EVO Road King and they felt really funky for awhile but after I got used to them I really like them.

Update

These are just just the same bars but about an inch lower and wrist angle is slight inward. Not expecting any better

I think its the wrist angle on the stock bars that bothers me.

Update

Have the bars on and they are set at the almost lowest possible setting. It actually works well. The bars are narrower because of the slight bend of the wrist angle and these would suit for people that have a medium chest build. So any body that is a size 40 chest and below would benefit this. I tried a higher bar position were the bars line up to the forks and felt pressure right away on my shoulders. Having them in the low position did not have any pressure on my shoulders at all.

It didnt reduced the reach like I knew it would, but it is a big improvement in terms of comfort. I ride in an upright position so this suits me very well.

My current setup is the hammock seat, seat beads, with these new bars for a 5'5" guy

Those look very similar to Heritage bars.

hmmm doesn't seem to be much of a difference. when it comes to handlebars I always recommend wild 1 chubbys bars. been around forever and have a ton of different styles. had them on all my bikes and never had an issue
