Default Lower fairing caps

I am trying to figure out how to remove the lower fairing caps so I can add some lighting to my engine guard. I do have a service manual on order but taking longer than expected. Year is 2020 tri glide (same as ultra) much thanks in advance.

You can also look up every part on your bike here. It only goes up to 2019 but I'm sure most of it will be the same. This shows pictures of all of the parts and assemblies and the part numbers. Even though it doesn't tell you how to take it apart it does show you were all of the fasteners are and you should be able to figure it out from there.

Do you mean the front panels. They just pop off. You can use a screw driver. I took the inside panel off and then just pushed the tabs to remove them.

The upper caps can only be removed by removing the bolt behind (inside) the speaker or cubby compartment. You have to be careful the bolt doesn’t drop into the inside of the fairing or you will have to take the whole fairing off to get it back out.

on air cooled, you need to remove a nut that attaches to a threaded stud inside the cubby as noted above. you need a ratchet wrench with a 6 inch (15 cm) extension to reach it. do not overtighten when assembling.

you should see a hole in the back of the compartment and the bolt is about an inch deep inside the hole.

look at items 5 and 6 here: item 6 fits into a capture point on the cap, and the nut (item 5) comes in from the glovebox area.

what year is this from? Does not look like mine at all. I see a washer, no bolt and nut. I will look again in the AM.
