Default RWD vs. Ohlins ?

Folks,

Looking to upgrade the rear shocks on my 2019 RG. I do long distance solo touring. I've been doing tons of searching on here and have narrowed it down to Ohlins or RWD. I would like to hear from someone who has possibly tried each of them?

Thanks in advance....

I'm not sure what RWD is (other than Rear Wheel Drive), but I do have the Ohlins on my 2018 SGS and love them.

Russ Wernimont Designs maybe?

I also have Ohlins, and am very happy with it.

You're probably gonna just get whoever owns each saying they're the best.
Honestly, I doubt anyone but a professional racer would notice the difference between the two and they're both MUCH better than stock.
If it was me I'd get whichever is the best deal and who has the best customer service.

The biggest difference is Ohlins has front and rear suspension products for your bike where RWD has rear shocks only. I am not bashing RWD as they may be great rear shocks; but what about the front?

I have used Ohlins front and rear suspension for several years on multiple bikes with excellent results; good system.

RWD was working on front cartridges.

Ohlins just came out with a front suspension for 2017 and newer touring bikes within the last couple of weeks. I am waiting for someone else to buy and review it before I do. it isn't cheap though. It is going for about $800. I have the Ohlins Blacline 159 rear shocks on my bike and I love them. They are incredibly easy to adjust on the fly, without needing any tools, for any riding scenario. I am not sure if RWDs can do that it or not but thought it was worth mentioning.

RWD has cartridges for front forks for '14-later touring, but last I knew were fulfilling preorders as a sort of limited release a couple months back and nothing was posted on their website. Not sure how that has proceeded or whether they're actively selling/soliciting orders at this point, but anyone running their rear shocks wanting to match up front should give them a call.

Just call Howard. No one has ever said I wish I didn’t buy Ohlins.
