My switch suddenly started jamming - not just coming out of lock, but also from unlocked to ON and vice versa. After many wiggles, it will move as if nothing was wrong but clearly I can't trust it.
I'm away from home and my service manual is back home. Is the procedure online somewhere? I know there are videos for newer bikes but that doesn't help with a 2002 model.
I managed to borrow a manual from someone and discovered that the switch had to be in the accessories position to be able to remove the lock.
The switch was loose and the tab on the shaft was not able to follow the groove in the collar. Cleaned everything and tightened it up and now it's fine.
