Default Legends Axeo help

Hi Guys,
I contacted Legends but with it being the weekend I may not get an answer so fast so wondering if anyone may have experience.
Need to say Im based in the UK and had to buy through a distributer and Legends have been super helpful with advice etc....

However it seems I dont have the “spare” rod seat that is listed in the parts to replace one of the OEMs (it could take weeks for me to get a replacement over here), the instructions say that this MUST be placed however looking on the microfiche parts list both oems seem to have the same part number so I'm wondering why?

Noticing the threads in the Axeos are different to deal with different lower bolt threads in each leg, (Axeos are obviously handed), the outside diameter at the bottom of the Axeos looks pretty similar?

Thoughts from anyone who has installed would e appreciated.

BTW the bike is a 2018 SGS
Thanks

If you are looking for the cups that go on the bottom, check the bag that the oil came in. That is where they had mine.

You would Only Need/Use the "Extra" Cup (oil lock piece) if your bike had the OE cartridge on one side which appears that your model does Not... You're Good to Go

Hi Guys,

Unless its one of them invisible ones I have no spare cup in the kit.

I do however have appreciation for your thoughts and advice...I had read just about every post on this subject in here earlier today but your responses and that my model (if the microfiche is to be believed) has two identical cups installed suggests I can just proceed using oem.

I deferred the fronts this morning and started on the rears, have sent an email to legends just to be sure. Have to say customer service with those guys thus far has been first class.

All the best fellas,

Hi again Guys,
So I set about these today, didnt begin till late so did one leg and plan the other tomorrow....cup issue aside, thanks for the guidance, when I read the Legends install instruction it does indeed say no cup provided for my model etc - DOH!!

I did find getting the oil into the fork simpler than i imagined - one or two you tube vids the guy make a real mess however guided by another I used a small funnel (tiny) and added the 11oz 50/50 pumping down on the damper tube several times on each occasion, I didn't get any big burps of air and its difficult to say what normal should feel like, I guess I might be more aware when I do the other side.

Only other assumption i made was to install the leg so the top chamfer is 50% displayed above the back of the top fork bracket as oem, described in the manual, legends instructions dont mention this other than torque to oem specs, so i imagine thats good to go.....

Once again thanks for all the advice fellas, hoping anyone doing a search in the future may find this for reference.

Cheers

Good to hear that you are done with one side and all went well.
I have yet to start my install, and like you have watched youtube videos.

Keep us put to speed when you begin. One of the biggest surprises was that spring in the top of the fork tube (lol). I have serviced fork on softails (older ones) and Sportsters but this was the first on a tourer -man can it go .....
