I bought a road king custom last year. I am going to put exhaust and a breather on it and remap the computer. I am looking for good sound and added hp. What is the best combination of exhaust and breather to gain the most hp while still getting the good sound?
I have a lot of buds with dressers and we are all run the Vance and Hines Oval Slip-Ons and stage 1 breather kits from Harley. I have the power commander III USB on mine and so a few others, and some have the ECM download for that setup. Either way, you are going to see a nice increase in performance over stock and the sound too. Plan on about 400 for the pipes and 279 for the power commander and 120 for the breather kit. These are just average prices, but worth the cost.
I agree with Scott...V&H are a good purchase, a little louder than the SE's.
A few of us have SEs on our bike with the SE intake...very nice sound and not too loud. I would recommend going to the HD shop and see what some of the guys have on their bikes when they pull up. If you like it, get it...if not, keep listenin'.
