Okay... Flat ground, Wind 0 MPH, Solo Seat, No Tour Pack, and No Cops in sight...

Hammer 3rd gear to 80 mph, Quick shift to 4th 102 mph, Full Blast into 5th jumps pretty swiftly to 112 mph and then the struggle begins. It felt like 4 hours to gain the last 8 mph to 120 but mission accomplished.

Stayed straight with no wiggling or wandering on the way up but did have a slight shimmy on the way down but I think that was from coming off the throttle too quick. 96 HP and 108 Torque is apparently the combo to get a RK with a windshield cut through the wind just enough to use up the speedo.

Side note speedo and GPS are dead on so it was a legit run. I have no need to get it up there again until the curiosity of my next build mandates another run. The good news is since my recent tune that dialed everything in the bike can hit triple digits prettty easily in 4th, 5th, and even 6th.

SAFETY NOTE:
Be safe out there guys my riding style should not encourage anyone else to try and do the same. I checked my bike out very carefully before making that pass and checked out the road closely before running it. Without stabilizers and suspension upgrades I wouldn’t even consider taking a touring bike up to those speeds.

Now that same sweeper is solid and smooth at 90+.

So yeah I’m a True Trak believer even on the new frame. The Monotubes and 944’s are a big help as well.
Wow I didn't realize they had a front True Track. I've never been over 85 honestly. I was up on the high plains in Colorado Springs & thought I'd work on some high speed emergency maneuvers. Like trying to quickly move right or left to avoid something. Well I experienced my first death wobble & if I hadn't relaxed & gotten it together I woulda been down.
Recently did the swing test by the book & barely got 2 swings so steering stem is definitely not loose.
I hit a few HOV lane ramps going back & forth to work that are one lane with concrete barriers on both sides & with any type of wind I feel my Ultra Classic all over the place above about 65-70.
It's an '09 so the rear is just fine & I have 944s as well. Certainly want to do some front end improvements. Going to go to heavier fork oil for starters.

Thumbs up

I figured that tune would give you the push to go over the hump, especially after I saw how it smoothed out the curves.

Cognates on doing something you wanted to do (and not with any major consequences); something I would not have considered doing, …

nor wanted to do ...

at least for the past several decades...

+1 on True Track front and rear. I put in about 450 miles this weekend on all kinds of roads. Huge difference in cornering. I pulled off a couple of two lane passes and didn't realize I had rolled up on 90 MPH without even a wiggle! The only failure in a smooth corner now is me!
