This is a funny discussion for me. I once got my 02 RKC 88 up to 105 mph in a short distance long quiet country road. I honestly wasn't looking to go that fast, I just got the urge to do all my shifts at redline for the fun of it. I found myself at 105mph after shifting into 5th. The bike was fine and the speed felt the same as going 85. I probably only rode a half mile starting from the stop sign to 105 and back down to 65 mph. I main concerned was waking up the nearby farmer on the beautiful Saturday morning. So, I cruise down to 65 mph and enjoyed the rest of the quiet morning ride.
I admit the 88 probably didn't have the umph for another 15 mph, but I wasn't red lining it either. Who knows. My 14 Limited won't let me get close.
