So, 2002 Road King was starting to sputter out at idle when coasting, so I checked the internet and found that you should clean out your throttle body to start. Well, I took all the air cleaner parts off and noticed this on the throttle body and it looks like something is missing. I've only had the bike a year and this is my first Harley, so I'm kinda new to this. It just looks like some type of hose should be there because it looks like a piece is still on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hopefully someone will come along and know , but my guess is that it should be plugged with a rubber grommet , most of the time they get dried dried up and crack , blown off . Any auto shop or parts warehouse should carry them . While your at it , I would clean your IAC while the air cleaner is off . The little hole at 12 oclock can be sprayed with carb cleaner to get any crud and debris out of it , place a rage in their to catch it all . This procedure will help make your engine run smoother . Many videos out there on how to do it .
I can't remember what that little tube is for either, but I do know it should be capped off. It creates a small vacuum leak and erratic idle. Cleaning the IAC as MyFavRk said will help immensely with stalling issues. Make sure you use "Throttle Body Cleaner" and not just carb cleaner.

Thank you QC , I was wondering about that . I was doing a search as you posted , much appreciated !
Glad this thread popped up. I was cleaning my throttle body last week, because of a low/erratic idle and noticed that same open ended tube. Promptly forgot about it. Now I can stop at the hardware store, or dealer to get a cap for it. 👍
