Default Advice needed for first service

I have a 2007 EGC with 900 miles I put a set of Wild Pig slip-ons on when i reached 450 miles. I was told to check the plugs by the dealer and whenI did I found the plug electrode and the porcelain part to be white with very little carbon. I am no expert but I think I am running lean, the electrode is sorta ash color and the porcelainis stillwhite. I have my first appointment for service next week and want to know before I get there what needs to be done to correct this. I was told the stage 1 download may help but I want some advice on if that is what I need. I don't want to spend a ton of money to get it correct and I don't want the stealer to take a load out of my wallet forsomething I don't need. Thanks

http://www.dragstuff.com/techarticle...ead-plugs.html This link may help ya. I personally wouldn't bother with the Stage 1 download. If you just changed slip ons then you shouldn't need a remap. If you do the air cleaner to a Stage 1 (which I would suggest) then you would need a remap. This is where I would do something other than wasting $150 on the Harley download, do a PCIII, Fuelpak, SERT or something of the like and it will also help with any heat issues that you may be experiencing.

So if I understand you correctly if I stay with only the slip ons and do not mess with the air box I do not have to do any other modifications. Is this correct?

Yep, you will not HAVE to do anything else. Listen to the Dawg, he has always steered me in the right direction. BTW Dawg, I took the bike in for that trans cover gasket leak. And that is what it was. It was fixed under warrabty, I haven't noticed that the dealer f'ed anything up, which is good. Thank you for your advice. Although I am sure I could have swapped the gasket, I really didn't want to mess with removing the exhaust.

Thank you both so much. I thank you as well as my wallet thanks you, which in turn means my wife's shopping habit thanks you also.

Get yourself a service manual and a pot a coffee.Doing a 1000 checkup yourself is EASY for the mildly mechanically inclined.Just did mine yesterday (07 EGC-see profile) and parts were $55 from the dealer.

If your still concerned about your plugs (which are fine BTW), all that money you save from that 1K service, buy a Fuel Pak and chrome AN Big Suck AC (from EBay's Eastern Performance and American and it'll run you$360 delivered.

Just those three (pipes included) minimal improvements will make you smile bigger every time you crack that throttle, plus cut down on some heat.

Regards.
