Fire and Ice Rally
The ride down was nice. Overcast and fairly cool. Walked around for a while, got the t-shirt. LOL. We saw a bunch of clouds in our homeward bound direction, so we thought we would try to beat it...We didn't. [:@]Lots of little dops of rain. The kind that feel like a thousand needles hitting your face. I had the leathers packed in the bags before the trip, to get some new patches sewn on. The wife told me to take them out... she found a local gal that does it in her home (and I already have the patches). We don't own rain gear and only have needed it a couple of times. So, it was t-shirt and jeans, and we were off.Coming back, we were only a few miles out of Grants and the skies opened up. Stopped on the side of the road to throw a bandana over my face. It didn't help much. We stop at a casino on the way back to get fuel, and dry off a bit. There was an accident. Looked like a bike broad sided a car, at the bottom of the off ramp. Everyone was walking around and taking pictures of the scene, so it appeared noone was badly hurt (thank heavens). Headed out again, more rain the rest of the way. Like I have said before, I don't mind the rain, but having a jacket for the wife to wear, would have been nice. We got home safeand I told the wife that the ride home made the trip for me. Sounds silly, but being in the elements, all the elements, is what riding is all about to me.
I learned a couple other things (and the wife as well). She needs a better seat and the bike needs more power. This is just the trip I needed to convince the wife.
Now, I just need to get some scrap together!! Thanks all for listening. Be thankful you are safe and sound in front of your pc's, cause ya just never know.
Bill
