My issue is with my 08 ultra. I have just noticed a red key illuminate and after checking the code I see a S61123. My understanding is that it has something to do with TSM/TSSM. What is happening is when I turn the ignition off and the bike goes into its arming process and does its sequence of flashing the lights it some how discovers an issue because the red key comes on, then I do not have a left turn signal. If I leave the ignition in the on position and clear the code I then have my left signal again and no red key. The problem doesn't happen until I turn off the ignition. I have checked front and back lamps, everything appears ok. If all lamps are working correctly as I indicated above I dont believe there is an issue with them. I am stumped as to what it can be. Unfortunately with everything being as it is doesn't look like the dealer will be able to look at it without having the bike for a long time. Hopefully someone may have the fix for me or point me in the direction of being able to fix myself.
dawg, if there was a short wouldn't it trigger all the time? Like I said it will not happen if I clear the code and leave the ignition on. Only after I turn ignition off and security goes into its sequence that I get the red key. It seems as though there is a issue with the security and turn signal modules. Almost if I eliminated the security module, the issue wouldn't be present.

Could be intermittent short. Exposed or chafed wire shorting with movement or a bump.
There are circuits on the bike that are powered when the ignition comes on (i.e. wired into the ignition circuit) so they are not constant power. Perhaps something is chaffed and when you turn the ignition on initially, it causes the fault. Check wiring, check the bulbs, start with easy stuff first as a process of elimination.
Ok so first thing is, for those that think this message should have been in the electrical section I did post there as well. Second, I have found the issue. After getting feedback from some others on a different site, I determined that the issue is with the brake/turn/ running module. It was suggested that the module could be causing the problem. I disconnected the module and reconnected the factory wires back together and cleared the code and turned ignition off and then back on started the bike and turned off and back thru the process over several times. So far no issues. I do want to replace the module as it takes the turn signals and allows them to be running and brake lights.

It's always helpful to mention non OE add ons when asking for help. Yes, those modules do fail, and cause the issues you described in post #1, but how are we to know what was added to the bike without all the details?
