Most of the buffeting is from beneath the fairing.
The screen needs to be at a level that you can see over without too mutch obstruction.
Too high on a wet ride and you cant see the road.Something us UK riders are used to.
Personally I run a $35.00 cheapo and I'm happy. I see over the top. I've had a Wing and looked though and really didn't like it. But,when it rained Iwas of those who loved the TALL shield. I have rode hundreds of miles in rain storms ducked down behind that tall shield peaking up drying to stay dry!

Fastaire is an awesome windshield, You can't beat the price, it is so good I bought several to fit the season and my riding mood. They are actually hard to scratch, I scrub the bugs off and it still looks great everytime. I have the smoked, so I am not sure if the clear hold up as well.
I have a 8 inch that is perfect, but am also 6 foot.
I'm 5'8 barefoot also with a 30" inseam - the stock 4" shield looks great but I get buffeting with it, I tried an inexpensive 6" windshield but mistakenly ordered a dark no-see though and while my eyes were still well over it I didn't like not being able to look down and see through it at tight distances.
I'm probably going to order an 8 inch light grey from Fastair for long trips if I'm also traveling at night..and maybe a 6 inch dark sunless gray for some day trips. Check out their website..they are not that expensive:
I just ordered two windshields from fast aire about twenty minutes ago..6" and 8" dark sunglass grey or something like that. cannot beat the price...around $56.00 for both with shipping!! I cannot wait. I am 5'8" with about a 30" inseam. I figure one of those will do. also just got my lrb front pads today....hopefully no more brake noise Fastbagger, I just picked up a rubberized antenna about 16" long or so for my sg at autozone for like 5 bucks....works mint, and I don't poke anyones eyes out anymore...lol...have fun, scott
Fast Aire ... I do not have a shipping problem, I usually ship no later than the next business day.
What I do have is a serious supplier issue that is impacting my inventory to the point that I have no Light Greys in stock right now and Im getting low on the others. This problem looks to be getting even worse and Im looking for a new supplier now... but that takes time to ramp up to speed.
If anyone knows of a Plastics Company that does Laser Cutting & might be interested in making a lot of windshields for me, please give them my email address.
