I have a SE 6 speed in my 2002 with 3:37 primary. One of the best up grades I have done. My bike is a 103” with good tq numbers so I have the power to use it.

if you have 3.15 primary gearing I would stay with the 5 speed. I run 3.37 with the 6 speed, best of both worlds. You would be surprised how much difference those 500 rpms make.

I put the SE 6 speed in my 2001 Ultra and my brother used a Baker in his 2002 Road Glide. Both have 3.37 gearing, 95ci pistons (high compression ) with 204 cams. Both run great and as indicated above dropping 500 RPM when cruising is great.

Good luck.

FWIW-there is a reason why the Ultima comes with a 12/12,000 warranty and the Baker comes with a 60/50,000 warranty.

There is absolutely NO justification to spend what Baker is asking for their transmissions. I've run the Ultima behind 140" engines hard without trouble. Not bad for the fraction of the cost.

I dont plan on getting rid of this bike anytime soon. (Sentimental value cuz it was my dads) The extra dollars, for me at least, are worth the additional mileage and years of warranty. Based on what I could research with internet as well as independent dealers in the area, there are mixed reviews and hit or miss results with the Ultima, the Ultima is made in China, and there wasnt a 1st gear option available. I was able to find the Baker at a distributor in stock with the 3:24 first gear I wanted. Since I only have a 95” it helps a bit off the line. The OD at .86 was the same on both and is really nice on the highway. For me, worth the extra dollars to support an American company, get the trans right away and have the first gear ratio I wanted. Not saying you're wrong, I was actually optimistic for the reduced bank account amount when I saw how much cheaper it was. I just couldn’t JUSTIFY in my head spending less not having what I wanted and peace of mind. I guess there is SOME justification..........
