Isnt it strange that not 1 single place in the US has the Mustang in stock but everyone has the Saddlemen?
I was told the Saddlemen return rate was 70%.
Honestly if it set me low I would be keeping it. I like sitting in the bike and not on top of it.
I am actually ordering a Saddlemen Renegade low profile for my Softail and I think it will be great on that bike. I only ride it short hops. I by no means hate Saddlemen. It is a really high quality seat but it just isnt for me on the Road Glide.
I went with the Saddlemen Road Sofa LS Extended Reach. I am 6'-4". 230 with a 32 inseam. I have a 18 Road Glide Special. I tried the La Pera Maverick Daddy Long Leg(NOT the 2-up version) and loved the fit to the bike and the look. It sat me low which I liked but the wife didn't like the seat all that much. I went on a 1600 mile ride and it got really hard with little back support. I returned the Le Pera Maverick and bought the Saddlemen. It did sit me up a little higher but it was worth it. The Saddlemen fit to the bike is good not great. You can see some of the frame but I don't mind. If you are looking for an extended reach, Saddlemen is the way to go in my opinion.
Saddlemen RS LS Extended vs. Le Pera Maverick DLL
Finish - Edge to Saddlemen because of leather and stitching.
Infill Material - Saddlemen due to gel and progressive foam.
Fit to Bike - Le Pera due to it filling all the gaps and voids between the bike and the seat.
Rider Position - Edge to Saddlemen. It has better lumbar support but it does sit you up about were stock is. Le Pera is low
Passenger - Saddlemen. She likes it better due to the size and foam. the Tour pack helped provide more room for both seats due to the extended reach.

I agree with every single word you said, both pros & cons (which cons weren't much!). Myself and my g/f of 16 years LOVE the Saddlemens rode sofa (spelling intentional). I also own the Harley branded lo profile diamond 'toast" stitched seat that I use for solo and it's also supremely comfy, almost more than the Saddlemens. Bought the passenger pillion but g/f doesn't like it as much as the Saddlemens.
The 2 position heat for both really helps in cooler weather. My Road Sofa looks like it will last a lifetime. Built like a tank & gorgeous too! I also bought the Saddlemens diamond stitched hardbag covers to match the seat. I get constant compliments...
I read somewhere that Saddlemen will let you send your seat back for a refund if you dont like it after trying it?
Has anyone used this in real life and is it that easy?
As stated many time seats are a subjective thing based on the *** in it. I just got the LS backrest for this trip we are on and it rocks as a set. With an arthritic hip i can run 8 hours and can still walk so I'm good with it. If I want more comfy i will take the Accord, less buIfeting too LOL.

I bought one from Dennis Kirk. It didn't work out and I sent it back for refund. Saddlemen will do the same.
I don't like sitting high. The Road Sofa was like sitting on a highchair.
Me and the wife both ended up liking the mustang pro touring the best and got a custom one with basket weave and double diamond stitch....
The guy that started this thread got rid of his Road Sofa also.

Why ask someone you don't know or trust? Why not simply CALL Saddlemens and ask them directly?? That would be the smartest thing to do to get a dependable answer...?
