I really like my toe / heal shifter but with size 13 boots it gets a little tight. Often time my heal shifter rubs the back of my boot when Im downshifting on the toe. Also, Im thinking that eliminating the heal shifter would be easier on my linkage. I just replaced my rear shifter to tranny arm last year and Ive had to retighten it already.
I had tried a long heal shifter a while back but I took it off worried that it was too much leverage on my linkage. It was a cheap one and was real heavy.
Any thoughts.
Once I got used to the loss of my heel shifter on my 2020 I am perfectly fine.
At first though it mustve looked funny when I was trying to hit it and it wasnt there.
Now I dont miss it at all
It all depends on what you get use to and how big your boot riding boots are. I prefer the heel shifter on bikes with floor boards.
But.....Im use to either way as I own/ride my other bikes with toe shifter only as well.
If all new bikes eliminated the mechanical shifter and went with push button.....Ill get use to that as well. Which could definitely happen someday....
