Downshift before you get to rolling so damn slow. I'm always into 1st gear by about 10 mph.

You can easily do it yourself. I had this issue a couple of times. While doing the 5k, I thightened the chain tensioner a bit. It hasn't happened, again, since. I can't say for sure if the thightening was the fix, But, I have not noticed it since.

hey guys! hd makes an automatic tensioner that comes oem onthe 06 bikes and can be retrofitted back to 98. My opinion is thats its better than hot buttered bread part#4006305A easy install do it when oil change comes up you will need a new primary gasket had one on my 01 wide glide makes shifts a little crisper too!

My suggestion is to change your trans oil to Redline heavy shockproof & your primary to Fully synthetic ATF and at the same time check your primary chain tension, you WILL see an improvement in clutch & gearbox operation.
