I've had my RKC for almost 3 years. Tpically, as I come to a stop, I might find myself downshifting through 2 gears at once. (maybe third to first as I come to crawl).
Lately, when I attempt to do this, it won't catch the gear right away. I would have to release the clutch a bit, then downshift one gear at a time. It won't let me downshift through two gears at once.
I hate to say it may be fluid related in fear that it'll start an oil debate thread but...
I have thought of experimenting with different brands of trans fluids myself since mine does the same thing as yours on occasion. I'm currently using Syn3 and have thought about trying Redline due to what I've read here about how it'll smooth out the shifting.
Personally, I am against Syn3 or using any 20w50 in the transmission! Although the manufacturers said you can, you also have to be a bit skeptical. Although I am biased toward Amsoil, I still don't use the engine oil in all three holes. I'm still using the Severe Gear 75w90 in my tranny and 10w40 in my primary. I'm sure others will have different thoughts on this. So, I'll leave it here.
I was gonna vote for Chain Tensioning... Zimbob/PhilM beat me too it. Sounds more like there is a little slack there in the primary chain..... definately worth looking into.
