2006 Ultra pinging
Fellow riders I have a question. My friend has a 2006 Ultra. This winter he had a HD dealer install the big bore kit. I believe his 88ci was turned into a 98ci. SS kit was used. He went with true dual exhaust. HD high flow ac. They tuned the bike on the dyno. He just mentioned to me yesterday of a pinging sound on acceleration. The dealer looked at it and said he heard no noises. The guy had a full face helmet on! I had to drive it. Yep! Sure enough sounds like spark knock to me. I work in the dynos and used to do performance runs. My question is does anyone else run octane boost or mix in turbo blue or torco gas to resolve this issue? And if so what brands? I am sure after 5 months a retune on the dyno will not be free. My 2019 Ultra with a torque cam is much quicker. Thanks, figured it's best to ask a whole lot of HD brothers on this issue.

I am not saying it is the problem, but I had the old style injectors and when I swapped to the new style 25 degree it made a big difference. Wish I had done it sooner and easy enough to check
