Default Chrome Wind Deflectors (Colorado)

I was considering installing a set of the HD chrome wind deflectors(58121-85B) before going on our Colorado trip. I really don't like the looks of them but if they really deflect some of the rain and cold wind, they might be worth the money. Any thoughts here? How do they affect the passenger?

BadBob, if you're talking about the long, triangular deflectors that bolt onto the fittings (FLHR) where the windshield attaches/detaches, they do work. They remove the air that circulates behind the windshield, between the gas tank and about a foot higher. Also, they deflect wind away from where your feet would be if you were using highway pegs inside the crashbar (like I do for lane-splitting). They deflect mostly cold air, but then again, that would be some rain too in a downpour. I put them on in late fall as mostly they make winter riding comfortable and less breezy. I doubt the passenger would ever notice.

Yeah, I've got them and they do work. Unlike some, I kind of like the looks of them on the bike, kind of fattens up the front end.

I've got them and they do move the air away from the rider but the only negative is that they will cause rider and passenger to feel more motor heat, particularly on the left side.

I don't care for the look of them either and have never used them. But.....when I was in South Dakota last week I went to a few HD dealers and I swear every used bike had them installed. I know it gets windy out there so they must work since everybody seemed to use them.

I put a set on my 04 Road King last week.
Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to ride it but once since then.
I got them to stop the wind baffeling and blowing my shirt/jacket around.
It does that. I dont know yet if I will take them off in the summer or not.
It will stop the baffeling, or at least cut it way down where it doesn't aggrivate me,
I know that for sure.
Hope that helps.
