Hello everyone. Just got my hands on a used 2016 RK with the 103HO engine and 12k miles. Was sitting at my mechanics garage for close to a year with no buyers. Needs a new rear tire and will baseline with all new fluids. Anything else I should be aware of with this year and model. Love the MC even though it has the spoked wheel package . Will admit I have been riding the metric sport, adventure and cruiser MC world for years and this is my first HD.
Congrats! I have a 2014 with just over 56k miles, no mechanical issues so far. The one problem I had was related to a recall on the saddlebag connectors - my right saddlebag fell off and went sliding down the road. HD replaced it and I have upgraded to a bolt style connector.
Also, post a picture. We like pictures of motorcycles, especially Road Kings!
My brother in law and sister both own Dyna baggers (forgot year) and they had some problems with the saddle bags which they needed to get fixed if it is related in any way. A woman I know in a riding club wiped out on the highway when the saddle bag of the rider in front of her came off at speed, luckily she only got a couple of broken ribs. All these issues HD fixed they told me and thanks for the feedback. So that was why my mechanic was saying around 2016 fixed some saddle bag issues? Oh and nice picture of the MC by the way.
Excellent choice! I bought mine new in 16. I have about 15k on it, no real issues. Right hand control unit had to be replaced a couple of years ago. New battery last year. Regular maintenance and one new set of tires. Thats about it.
I did replace one of the bag pins on each side with bolts only because I had read the stories about them coming loose.
