Question FLHR Front Running Light issue

First post...thanks in advance for any help.

Short version...

I recently picked up a DOM 2019 Road King Special. Noticed yesterday that the front turn signals do not double as running lights. Double checked and found 1156 bulbs in 1156 sockets. How can this be? Sure seems these should be 1157 like every other touring bike out there. Also verified several pics and vids of same model/year showing running lights. I also have the Electrical schematics which show 3 conductors going to each of the front 'bullets'. Why would 3 conductors be necessary for a 1156 socket? I want to upgrade to LED but CD kit won't work on an 1156 socket...I believe.

Haven't spoke with any dealers yet as they are closed on Monday...would rather not anyhow.

Can anyone tell me why these would be single pin 1156 sockets and bulbs? UK model? VIN saya it's (1) DOM

Domestic model comes with dual filament bulbs in the front turn signals.

A 2019 bike and it has already been cursed by the worst mechanic in the world: the dreaded "Previous Owner".

I would sure think it would be 1157 bulbs but again it is 1156 sockets. Just trying to figure out why this might be before I start tearing into it.

It is...supposedly. Again, dealers aren't open on Mondays so I haven't spoke with them yet. Prefer to do all of my own work anyhow as I have issues trusting that someone else will do things correctly.

I guess ultimately it comes down to...either the wrong units were installed at the factory or the previous owner replaced for some reason...which would likely be damage and the wrong ones were put on.

I was really just trying to determine if there were any instances of these bikes ever having 1156 sockets that I was unaware of. But after digging and research the above are the only logical explanations.

Thanks

Are the bars stock? I doubt the wrong ones were installed at factory, it wouldn’t have passed a PDI. Pull the nacelle and inspect the turn signal wiring to see if any of it is spliced.

The bars are stock. I will start looking into this more tmrw. I did contact the previous owner tonight who assured me there had been no changes made.

Either way....worse comes to worse, I'll use the warranty to have it correctly corrected.
