Does anyone know what the difference is in horsepower between a stock Ultra and a stock SE Ultra? According to Harley's specs the torque difference is 86 ft. lbs. @ 3,500 rpm vs 100 ft. lbs. @ 4,000 rpm.
Anyone riden both the Ultra and SE Ultra? Is there a real noticable difference in power?
I currently have a 04 RKC but am planning on selling it in the spring and getting an Ultra. Maybe a SE Ultra.
I ride an 05 classic that was upgraded to the same SE103 that comes in the SE Ultra. It dynoed at 91hp/101tq. Seat of the pants differerence? Big time!
I have a 06 SE ultra, stock it is about 75 hp, after reinharts and the race tunner dynoed @ 97 .3 HP and 99.6 TQ, hope this helps...... A big differance in power I love it
I have a friend with a 2005 SE, and there is quite a bit of difference in power. He has ridden a new bike about every 2 years, so he has been through a few, and he swears by the SE models.
A third choice could be an Ultra built to a 103. This would leave ya with about 6 grand in your pocket even before you E-bay all the brand new parts you'll be left with.
Hello;
I've got a CVO ultra and can vouch for the noticeable amount of umph especially at lower rpm ranges. There's just more there when you hit the throttle. Smitty
