Default Check engine light X 2

OK I turn my 2004 EFI RK to on, flip the run switch to run and the check engine light comes on for a second or so then it gos back off, then a few seconds later it comes back on for a second. It does all this with out hitting the starter. Can anyone please answer this question of why does it show twice. It only just started doing this lately. Thanks

Have you checked to see if your setting any error code in the ECM. Below is a link that explains how to check for and see what the code means and how to reset them.

Thanks oldfartjc did what you said and found a u1097 code.( Loss of Speedometer Serial data EFI ) I also got what seemed to be part numbers ???? Like Pn 67033-04 not sure what that is but I am thinking that this must be from the other day a guy pulled out in front of me and I almost T-boned into him.I had to lock up the rear brake.I hit the high beam light, turn signial, and horn at the same time panicing to hit the horn and blew a fuse to the bike. The speedo and every thing else went off when it blew so that must be what it was from. I guess I reset with your help because it doesnt come on anymore. Thanks for such easy help.

The previous post caught my eye..... had the same light scenario and went to the link offered... it worked just like it said it would.... mine was PO118 ... ET Sensor voltage open/high EFI. The only thing I can think of is I recently was getting on it pretty hard and hit the rev limit twice... I never done that before.... I reset the error and did a test run and it didn't come back.....HAPPY TRAILS and PARTY HARDY !!!

That's a good question, and since I have an '06 I don't know the answer, but maybe someone with an '07 could chime in and let you know. I doubt that you would hurt anything if you tried it, but who knows.
