I have done a lot of gloss black powdercoating on my 07 Eglide. I tried to powder coat the Kuyrakyn Iso grips. But when I reassembled them the throttle side will not turn freely. I really need it to release when I let go of the throttle. Does anyone know of someone who makes some Black powdercoated grips? I would like something padded kind of like the Kuryaykn's. I have found a few Black Billett ones but I would like some comfort to.
I've got a set of the black PM Renthals also and they're the best grips I have ever had and I've had a lot of different grips since I started riding Harleys back in 69.

If you have the ones with the throttle boss on them, make sure you didn't just overtighten the throttle boss. When I originally installed mine, they throttle seemed to do the same thing. Backed the screws out a thread or so and it was fine after that. Did you coat the inside if the grips? If you did then you've probably got an interference fit on the throttle slide. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone that makes black powdercoated grips, but I wanted to offer the other advice if it helps any.
PM Renthals for me. M&M Cycles has a better price than J&P when I bought mine a few months ago. They are great to work with. I bet Shooter64 can get them too.

As mentioned by Peppa1 and Drelkor, check your cable installation. Also check to see if the grip is rubbing or hanging up on your switch housing. Powdercoat on the open end of the grip may be causing drag there.
The throttle mounts on a sleeve, so PC inside the grip might make it harder to get onto the sleeve, but shouldn't affect the sleeve's movement on the handlebar.
And post some pics! I like the kuryakn grips, but not the chrome. I'd like to see how they look blacked out.
I will try to post a picture tonight. They were a bitch to take apart. I think when I pressed the sleeve back into the rubber the end lip may have rolled over. I will look inside tonight. I know it was not binding inside the switch housing.
