I believe it's car and driver or road and track that only uses Shell premium for their road test. They have recorded test showing there is a significant but small improvement in 0-60, 0-100 elapsed times and improved fuel economy. It's most likely from less spark retard allowing the engine to preform more efficient combustion resulting in more power. It you aren't using a top tier gas in your 20-40k + bike well you get what you pay for. In most fill ups a top tier gas is 2-4 cents a gallon higher than the less gas.
uh, your post makes no sense. small or significant improvement? and in my area, unleaded is $1.87 while premium is $2.44. where are you getting 2 to 4 cents?
Wow.... It appears todays comments, require filtering. I like the way it was few decades ago, when more knowledgeable well renowned hands on enthusiast gave experienced opinions. One can learn off of it unlike todays opinions are worth a a dime a dozen, as people today are more resourceful due to google search but not as educated as before the internet that required retention.

Just one persons opinion...lol
And yet; grammar and spelling are still rare skills.
LOL. I wonder if the Nitro fuel quiets the valvetrain, improves shifting and grows hair on your head?
Or is that "grows hair on your palms"?
Not long after Shell began advertising nitrogen in their fuel, I called their 800 number and asked about that. I said the air is already 80% nitrogen so what does their fuel add? The nice lady's answer was "It isn't that kind if nitrogen"., With an answer like that I figured she wouldn't be able to tell me how many kinds of nitrogen there are. Personally, I only know of one kind.. For the guy who questioned the 4 cents/gal difference between top tier and brand X, try comparing the SAME GRADE, no ethanol brand X PREMIUM and top tier no ethanol premium. Around here, for the moment, top tier E0 is selling for less than some non-branded E0 fuels of the same grade (octane).. Makes buying top tier painless in comparison.

Funny! In Seattle all the stations except Arco/BP gets their gas from the same place. The only difference is the additive package and that has nothing to do with performance. With the exception of the ethanol free stations.
