Default Need recommendations for rear lighting add-ons

Had a rear tire blowout on my 2013 Road King a couple of weeks ago. As I waited for a tow truck on the shoulder of a busy highway and dusk set in, I noticed how totally inadequate the factory tail lights and brake lights are. No wonder there are so many stopped bikes getting rear-ended. Any suggestions for a rear-end light kit? --DYI installation preferred. I have an FLHR so lots of space on or between bags to add something. I started shopping at all the usual online bike sites but the options are overwhelming. Not interested in show lights and decorations, just basic high visibility. Also, any experience with the stop--blinker modules? Appreciate any thoughts.

Default LED Signals

HD makes a load equalizer for the electrics on the rear end. With that installed you get the turn signals lighting up when you hit the brakes. Also LED turn signals are a lot brighter than a tungsten bulb and have the amber signal color and the red stop color both in the same array bulb. Custom Dynamics or Ciro seem to be the best but they aren't cheap.

Another vote for the Custom Dynamics.

I bought my bike from my bro-in-law and he had put these gawdy lights on the saddle bags and tour-pak. BIG holes. (so I couldn't remove them)

I think they are truck cab clearance lights. Sorta reminds me of the tailights on a 61 Chevy Impala . I also added a strobing brake light (slim white up top(strobes red)).

None of it matches, but I made sure I didn't drill any more big honkin holes. At least the bike is lit up. If I were to ever redo it--somehow plugging up those holes. I'd likely go with some kind of low profile LED....with a black look (when off) and lit up red when on.
(not the best pic--sorry-all I had)

Once you get your lighting decision made, you can then move on to how your lights function. Also a Custom Dynamics product.

Custom Dynamics will have something to suit your needs, they have great customer service by phone.

There might be cheaper stuff, but IMHO there is nothing better.

I have their stuff on my 13 bagger, with modulators for the upper and lower lighting and you can see that bike from space.

Awesome feedback. Custom Dynamics it is. Thanks everybody. While everyone is so agreeable, I have a question about engine oil...

won't say anything about oil, but I will complement Custom Dynamics. I have '13 Street Glide with the two tail lights. I installed CD Plasma Rods, a new light kit for the bottom fender light, and a light module. I have turn signals, stop lights, and running lights set up with the stock lights and the Plasma Rods. More light. Brighter lights. And the brakes will flash 3 times then stay on. I like and highly recommend Custom Dynamics as well!!!

I really like these. They are Harley parts. Fairly easy install. Running, brake, and turn signals.
