Default Choppy wind

I have just added a 2015 SGS to the stable and have found that anything over 50ish I get choppy air that beats my head left and right. It has the stock windshield it and I was wondering if changing that would help resolve my issue. At times it gets so bad it makes my vision blurry.

that's called buffeting. your height, windshield size, helmesize all play a big factor on a fairing bike. look up street glide buffeting and you will have days of reading to look through and find what works for you

Changing windshield would be a start. Stockers on the SG are generally short for most folks and will go higher to reduce the buffeting to what is acceptable.

As the 1st reply stated there are several factors and finding the combination that is acceptable for you sometimes takes some trial and error. Its almost a fine science and we are always chasing that elusive buffeting free zone.

Plenty o threads on here that will point you in the right direction.

good luck!

HD's Windsplitter windshield or Klock Werk Flare windshield may help.

then, as said, you need to look into windshields, I'm 5' 7" and had a good amount of buffeting at 40mph and above, I bought a 6.5" Klockwerks windshield, night and day difference, my music is louder, and it's a much more comfortable, and enjoyable ride now

Get a windshield that sits just below your eye level and with a forward facing lip. Secondly, if you can stand the look, get a set of fangs. That two things together will solve 80% of your problem.

Completely agree on th Klockwerks windshield. Also, this wind deflector worked really well for me for the choppy wind coming from the front of the tank area on my SG. Easy, cheap, 5 minute fix.
