Default Belt Debris Deflector...

Hey Guys, I've just done the switch on my 2002 Road King to the smaller belt (1 1/5 to 1 1/8) and pulley.

I am thinking I should changed the belt debris guard to allow a bit more clearance on the wider tyre; the rear swing arm part on the 2002 and the 2004 are the same.

The weird thing is there are so many part numbers!!!

2002 lists 60386-02 (Ł51) and 60395-02 (which is listed as unavailable)
2004 lists 60386-02 (Ł51) and 60386-04 (Ł26)

I think the difference is that the older ones have a metal bar holding a rubber flap as opposed to all being one piece....

Anyone had any experience with the different part numbers?

I’ve no experience with different part numbers, but here’s what I did to work around my issue like yours;
I notched a rectangular window in my belt guard after a wider tire (Michelin C3 150) was installed on the rear. Tire sidewall clears fine now and the mod can’t really be seen. Just another option and costs you $00.00

Yeah, so that's what I have at the moment; but part of my reason for changing the belt and pulley was it broke.....because of one of the little chrome rocker box bolt covers! So i am wanting to get as much protection as possible. I think I am gonna order up the later 04 part as it doesn't have the metal bar holding the flap (which is what I think affects clearance).

The different part #'s may be for black VS chrome.

I did a similar belt conversion on my '97 Dyna, the original belt guard did not fit the belt correctly, so I had to get the newer belt guard.

Good luck

Could be that they just don't stock a lot of them, and with all the Covid shut downs, the supply chain has been interrupted...
