I tell guys if you live in the States and you have a Rural King in your area part number: SC30LFA $95 and you good to go for 4-5 years.
Between your stock battery and the Exide replacement Rural King sells you will have 8-10 years service for a $95 investment.
Harley sells a battery tender specifically designed for the Lithium battery. I have to admit that I have been tempted to go lithium. I like the idea of getting rid of nearly twenty pounds of weight.
LOL you will never notice 20lbs on an 800-900lb machine. Maybe on a 380lb Jap race bike but never on a Harley Touring bike.
Lithium battery, seem s to weak in cooler weather even if you let them warm up. Few that tried them around here were not impressed. Talked with someone that knows he stuff about bikes and he says the only place he uses them is on the racing bikes to save weight. Others wise he would not.
I have considered one but still not ready to jump on it.
Had my yearly service done today and went back to OEM lead acid battery. NOW it cranks properly. Won't go back to a lithium battery again until they redesign them to have better cold cranking amps (if that is even possible with that technology?)

Do you think you will feel the twenty pounds difference ? asking for a friend.
I replaced the Harley Lithium battery twice under warranty. First one failed after 4 months, 2nd after 11 months.. I guess if this one makes it over a year and I lose the warranty I'll at least have gotten a few years out of it. Made in China.. no surprise. I purchased it because I had free dealer $ I had won and had to spend not because I really cared about the weight or anything.. just thought it might last a while. I have the opposite problem in Florida in that its blazingly hot and my lead acid batteries tend to only last 2-3 years. Both of my failures were while parked and not ridden for a couple weeks. So not sure if they drained by the security system but both tested at like 2 volts when they died. I'm going to try to make sure to hook up the tender if it sits for too long.
I have a Bike Master Lithium in my 06 softie....It doesn't need a charger and turns over flawlessly every time. Its a year and a half old now... in Winter if I run that bike I just leave the lights on for a minute or two and crank it over. I will switch to a bike Master on my 19 SG when the time comes
I do find it interesting. Riders gripe because they wait 10-15 seconds for radio to boot up . But are ok with having to warm the battery up before starting.
I ride in cold not cool cold weather. When it get below 20 Degrees bikes get hard to start. Make that 10 degrees do it right or it aint starting.I can not see using the lithium.
