Can anybody tell me how hard this to do on 2004 roadking? Will i have to drop the fork?
THANKS
You will have to slide the fork down from the upper triple tree clamp at a minimum. You may as well take it completely off. As for lowering the front end goes I quit using the high priced springs and simply dropped in shorter dampner valves, Far less expensive than buying new springs.
If you do not have one yet, I have a brand new in the box Progressive Suspension lowering kit for a 2004 Road King and others for $50 plus shipping. I traded my 2004 RK in for an Ultra 2 weeks ago and never got to use the lowering kit. I live near the Daytona, FL area.
fwiw, I just installed the Progressive lowering fork springs on a '14 SGS. It is a snap to do. Takes about 2 hours if done right. Only bitch is finding an Allen wrench to fit the damper bolts in the bottom of the forks. I could not buy one large enough so took an old one and ground it down to fit. Rides same as stock w/ 61K on it. Just do it!
